VMware Licensing Training Course

VMware is an integral part of the datacentre for a large number of companies around the world, with most businesses running a highly virtualised on-premises infrastructure. While many may be familiar with the challenges of licensing other software vendors’ products within a VMware environment, it pays to be current and up to date with the licensing and audit practices of VMware too.

The first section looks at the features and licensing of common VMware products such as ESXi, vSphere, vCenter, Site Recovery Manager, and more – as well as how the various products can be bundled together when purchased.

We then analyse 4 key licensing and purchasing programs – VPP, TPP, EPP, and ELA – followed by an overview of the VMware End User License Agreement (EULA) and their product guide.

The audit section looks at VMware’s approach to audits – how the audit clause is worded, what they look for during an engagement, and things you ought to be aware of to guide your management. We also discuss VMware’s data collection policy and what this may mean for you.

Finally, we look at VMware support – the options available to you, the product lifecycle and available terms, as well as VMware’s support renewal policy.
