Vendor Compliance Health Check, Lead Consultant

Your point of contact for this engagement

What this is

The health check is designed to provide a high-level overview and assessment of your current vendor and compliance management processes. This includes a light-touch risk assessment for your top three key vendors, offering strategic guidance on where to invest your time and effort moving forward.

The Vendor Compliance Health Check can lead to long-term software savings by helping you target high-risk areas first and maximise any external services investments.

The report is built through a combination of stakeholder discussions, reports (which can be data-masked before being provided), and, where relevant, screen sharing to highlight any challenges faced with tooling or vendor portals. We use these discussions and reports to build an overview of your potential vendor risk, then analyse and compile it into a useful report.

This is a short, focused exercise, not a protracted consulting engagement. Typically three to four weeks end to end, paced to your team's availability.

Who it's for

IT managers and SAM managers whose organisations:

  • Require an independent assessment of their potential exposure to vendor compliance risks
  • Want to know which vendors or software present the highest risk, to maximise efficiency and decide what will make the biggest impact
  • Have invested in ITAM tooling and are not yet seeing the return
  • Want to know where to invest any existing external professional services credits
  • Are interested to know which vendor training their teams should be prioritising
  • Want a baseline before bringing in new tools, processes or people

How we work

The engagement runs in five focused phases. It moves as fast as your team's availability allows.

Scope and stakeholder mapping

We agree the brief, identify the correct stakeholders across the business, establish any limitations and set up the initial stakeholder discussions.

Remote stakeholder discussions

Structured one-to-one conversations via Teams or Zoom, capturing the details of your current SAM process, understanding any compliance concerns, and uncovering potential risk across your software vendors.

Vendor assessment

We establish your top three high-risk software vendors and request any additional information, such as entitlement or deployment data. This can be data-masked before being provided to us.

Vendor Compliance Health Check report

A written report covering current state, key software risks, strategic recommendations and potential cost savings.

Prioritisation workshop

We facilitate a remote workshop with your stakeholders to present findings, sense-check the conclusions, and agree priorities together. The final report is adjusted where necessary.

What you receive

  • A written Vendor Compliance Health Check report, covering current state, key software risks, strategic recommendations and potential cost savings
  • A risk assessment of your top three high-risk software vendors, built from stakeholder discussions and any entitlement or deployment data you provide, data-masked where required
  • A prioritised view of where to invest your time, effort and any existing external professional services credits, so the highest-risk areas get attention first
  • A recommendation on which vendor training your team should prioritise
  • A facilitated remote prioritisation workshop with your stakeholders, with the agreed priorities as the documented output
  • All artefacts in editable form, so you can take them forward without us

How your organisation benefits

Clarity

You move from a vague sense that vendor risk exists somewhere in the estate to an evidenced view of which vendors present the highest exposure, and why.

Focus

Not every vendor deserves equal attention. You leave knowing which three matter most, and where your time and services credits will make the biggest impact.

Leverage

When a vendor arrives with an audit letter or a renewal, you know where you stand before they do. An audit you can evidence is an audit you can defend.

Savings

The report identifies where money is leaking: the compliance gaps that risk a true-up, and the spend that targeted action can recover.

Speed

A short, focused engagement, not a protracted consulting programme. Three to four weeks end to end, paced to your team's availability.
